Sales Account Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an Account Manager within our Sales team, reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director (UK & Ireland). This role will be field based for the most part, with one day being worked at either home or our Ringwood office.

Within this role you should achieve/exceed agreed sales targets and objectives, and contribute to the development of sales plans, as required. You will professionally represent the company with primary responsibility for a base of key account customers.

You will give sales presentations in accordance with the company’s philosophy, designed to achieve agreed results from available sales opportunities and optimise existing relationships with your customer base to ensure ongoing business retention. You will drive for new business with a focus on your customers’ markets and undertake prospecting activities to generate sales opportunities. You will ensure that company’s database and CRM systems are continually updated and operate a planned contact programme. You will develop and maintain a full knowledge of all of the company’s major products, systems, and prices, together with the key features of major competitors. You will handle all customer queries and complaints in line with the Customer Services team, ensuring resolution to achieve customer and company requirements in a timely manner.

You will attend monthly review meetings with the departmental staff to ensure effective collaboration in the pursuance of business aims and objectives. It will be necessary to attend and take part in sales and training sessions as required. You will provide reports and records on all sales activities and personal expenses. It may also be necessary to take part in any on or off site promotions from time to time. You will keep a continual awareness of industry developments and be prepared to communicate these across the company.

It is of major importance that you are constantly and consistently conscious of Customer satisfaction by providing an outstanding level of courtesy and service at all times.

Knowledge of the book/library markets would be advantageous and a minimum of 3 years’ sales experience is required. It will be necessary to show proven expert selling techniques, knowledge of CRM systems and competence in the use of MS Office PC package.

You will be self motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organizational and planning skills, together with a strong commercial acumen and a “make it happen” approach.
